Remembering Summer

Gone are your wild tresses and your breezy caresses
and your warmth at the start the day
Here lie your desiccated accessories and your subtle pleasantries
and your ashes of dirt and sand and clay
Gone are your dewy embraces and your lush open spaces
and your lively singing at the end of the day
How I miss your fragrant scent and your taste for the sweet
and your love of showers midday
